While it may seem insignificant, subtracting four inches from a bass string’s vibrating length has a profound impact on timbre and feel. They're totally different guitars, despite looking almost identical in some ways - the critical difference is the scale length. The Jag's short 24" scale can be a bit cramped for some people, and gives it a percussive, biting but also thick tone - hard to describe, and more 'different' than the Jazzmaster.
